Hello to all, this is my first post to this very fine informational site. I live in Queens NY and have 20 acres of basically rural property in upstate NY. I have been maintaining the property with a ford 8N for the better part of 10 years, well about 2 yrs ago i decided the old girl needed some freshening up and had a local rebuild the engine well that didn't go very well, needless to say it got very expensive having a local guy just maintain the grass around the house so inevitably I knew I needed to buy something, and that's where these forums helped me so much. Once I found TBN site I couldn't stop myself, I felt like a sponge absorbing so much great info.before I bought I needed to see what was out there and what was a good value, where I am in upstate we have dealers of Massey Ferg., New holland, Cub Cadet, and Kubota, well I've seen Kubota on construction sites and went online to get reviews good or bad, well almost all were positive about the Botas not much bad, I just didn't know if new was going to be as good as the old 8N. After coming across this site and reading all the posts I took the plunge and bought a brand new L3400. Man she is Beautiful: because of work I had to receive delivery on Friday after Thanksgiving spent 2 days with her and put 1.6 hours on her and then had to prep her for a winters slumber, well it's been about 1 week back home and at work and I'm jonesing (is that a word) yearning to be with my tractor. She's a fine beast and i'm sure she can handle anything I can throw at her. Just gotta figure out a way to keep my buddies from wanting to borrow her! I'll try and post pics! and will be adding a Bush Hog SQ 160 in early spring.
