Kubota BX 24
Hello all,

Found this site a little while back and have been lurking around. November 2006 I bought myself a BX 24 to handle the work around the house I bought. The house was left unmanaged for over a year, grass was 4ft high when I purchased it and just in rough shape. Here is a picture of my buddy "playing" with the backhoe removing some rocks before mowing the field.

When I bought the tractor I neglected to get the mowing collection system that is PTO driven (grass catcher) thinking I would never use it. Now after 2 years of raking and blowing leaves I see the foolishness in my move  I have found a used grass catcher for sale in my area that came off a BX2200 at a good price.
Now for the question. Will this fit my machine with no issues?

Thanks Matt

I have the exact collection system you have pictured, but I have a BX2230, not the newer generation as you do. The bagger system is set up for a very specific relationship between the top link pin at the tractor on top and the balls of the lower links of the 3PH. Since the 3PH arrangment changed completely between these two generations, I'd be concerned that the whole assembly would not set level off the back of the tractor without some type of modification. Of course, I don't know that it would NOT.

Perhaps you could trailer your tractor to the bagger and mount it up (there is no modification necessary for mounting, only removal of the lower link lift arms) to see if you like it.

I'm not sure how many folks have tried to cross-match these two units as probably fewer than 1 in 100 (or fewer) owners of either tractor type has the OEM bagger.

On the plus side, I love mine. Of course, I have many many trees, so a trac-vac could not work for me. As long as I stay on top of the leaves (suck them up at least every 5 days or so), they aren't that big of a deal. The only issue I've found is having to replace the shear pin about every other time I use the unit. 5 minute job, it just stinks to stop "production" to replace it.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to see pictures of your Z28. :D

The Z28 is stripped down to nothing:( Its an 86 IROC. I bought it as a shell to put the engine in from a previous camaro that I twisted the frame in (too much engine no sub frame connectors  ) I will see if I can dig some pictures up of the car, its been on hold since I got married and bought a house

I'm a fan of the 80's F and G bodies. I have an 87 Cutlass with a 409 (Olds 403+.030), but that's for another forum, I reckon. Funny, I haven't really driven it since 2003, and that's when the chain of events of building a house, getting married, and having a kid started. :)

...model number...

My bagger is the GCK60-BX. You can still see a picture of it under the Kubota web site if you look under BX, 1830/2230, and under Accessories, there is the Grass Catcher. That's what I have and I think that is what your picture was in your original post.

I think they changed things for the new generation...it has a new model number and I think they went with a belt inside the guts instead of a shaft line on mine. I think. I hear there is less problems with the shear pin popping, perhaps because the belt takes some of the shock out of sucking a hunk of wood into the impeller. Dunno. That's my theory, anyway.
