Not sure it really applies, but my Lincoln was parked all winter and once spring arrived, the new battery from last fall was so dead nothing would happen. After two hours on a hot charge it would click. After two more it spun slowly and took off. I took it off the charger left it run for two hours and turned it off and tried restarting it, it would just click. Jumped it and let it run almost 4 hours before shutting it off. Next morning I tried it and it spun slow, but started. I drove it all day and it now starts normally.
A slow charge I never expect any results quicker than 8 hours. A fast charge will sometimes take a dead battery to usable in an hour, but not always. If the battery became extremely discharged, it can take a long time to charge it back up. You may also have a dead cell in the battery. I'd leave it on a slow charge for about 8 hours total then try it.
