Hello all,
First, thank you to all who have contributed and replied to posts that I've read while on my search for tractor knowledge. I have been sneaking around the forums intermittently for a couple of years now. I've taken in a lot of opinions, suggestions, and experiences while figuring out my own path. There's a lot of information and experience out there, so thanks for sharing!
I thought I should join the forums and share my own experiences, and also (greedy me) be able to ask questions.
I grew up on a horse farm and have been around and operated various tractors in all the major colors at some point in time, from a 40's Farmall to brand new green and orange ones. I haven't been on the farm for over 20 years, and until moving out of town a couple of years ago, haven't needed a tractor of my own. Now I've got mowing to do, clearing to do, a long driveway to maintain, snow to manage (from time to time), and the list goes on and on. Before I moved to the new place, the property had been neglected for quite some time and will need a lot of work over a few years to get it really nice.
Speaking of orange ones, I bought one! I have a new Kubota L4701 HST 4wd with FEL and 2 rear remotes. For the time being, I've already picked up and put a ratchet rake to use and have played with the box blade a bit. Next things on the list are a rotary cutter and a SSQA grapple (going to look around for used deals).
Anyway, thanks again for all the information so far! I look forward to being a contributor as well as continuing to learn more from the forum membership.
