Hi, my name is Paul Rae. I live in Athens Pennsylvania. I am the owner of two tractors. One is a Massey Harris Pony, the other is a Kubota BX24D. My pony was my only tractor for a very long time and then I got the chance to purchase my Kubota at what I considered a very reasonable price. It had been dumped off a trailer that was transporting it so the plastic fenders had been pretty much demolished and the hood broken in half. But being built like a tank it did not suffer much mechanical damage. The broken parts that could be salvaged have been pieced together enough to be serviceable and I had to fabricate the right side fender from some materials I had lying around. I am 67 years old and have been an industrial mechanic since the early 1970's. I am finally retired and really enjoying working solely for me and some of my friends. I am really enjoying the BX24, a pick and shovel are no longer a part of my tool set (I still own a few) but this backhoe and loader is a real labor savor. I am currently using the back hoe to make a 60' trench in which I am going to lay 4" pvc pipe to allow me to run water heater lines and electric to my swimming pool. The wife likes really warm water when she wants to swim and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me so I endeavor to keep her happy. My pool solar heater panels are going on my roof for the next swimming season so I had to make a way to get the water lines to our swimming pool. I cannot wait to get them up there because set up on the ground, they are just one more thing to mow around ( if you know what I mean), and this will also allow me to get rid of some heavy extension cords. Well enough of a rant for the introduction good day to all and above all stay safe and work careful.
