Hello everyone,
I'm back using a tractor after 35 years! I became the keeper of my current tractor last year when I bought it with a property. It is a Ford 4610 Okanagan Orchard Special. This is a Ford 4610, with front axle and steering from a 3910, low slung exhaust, internal air intake and wide-set, fat rear tires. It works well on our hilly vineyard, reasonably stable side-to-side and its low stance and lack of upper exhaust and air intake lets it fit between our close-set top heavy lyre trellising.
Sitting on the 4610 for the first time and giving it a drive was strangely familiar. It was like the Ford 4000 we had on our farm years ago, but easier; power steering, power breaks, hydraulic toplink - all mod cons!

Jobs slated for next month are:
- Change rear axle/hydraulic fluid & filter - that is a surprising amount of hydraulic fluid 45.7 litres (48.3 US quarts).
- Change transmission oil.
- Finish resealing a leaking power steering cylinder and change PS fluid & filter.
- ..and most intimidating, fixing the leaking gasket on the top cover on the diesel injection pump and replacing one of the studs (which I probably broke when trying to stop diesel spraying out of the side). Must thank Lance Bundy Bears Shed for giving me the confidence to tackle this one.
