Or maybe more appropriately, "Howdy Y'all".
Took delivery of a Kubota BX25D in August. Been reading up on various aspects of tractorology on the site. Picked up a lot of good info. Liked what I saw so decided to join up. Some photos attached.
Took on a big project this past summer. Wife said our yard looked like crud (not her exact words), so we embarked on a back-breaking, pick & shovel, wheelbarrow carting adventure. Of course, by "we", I mean I did the picking, shoveling, carting and back tuning. She earned the bonus to pay for it all. It was a good partnership. Project involved removing an existing blue-stone walk, a 100 or more Belgian block edgers, a brick paver grille pad, lots of top, sub soil & sod. Countless trips made with the wheelbarrow carting the materials to various locations around the property. I ain't no spring chicken either. After clearing the site, I installed a new 35 x 20 brick paver patio with retaining walls, new wood steps up to the deck, new stone steps up to the garage entry, an outdoor shower, three raised bed garden boxes, a picket fence, pergola gate, tractor gate, cobblestone walk, crashed stone parking area and a hot tub. Then, the combination of my steady progress, along with my moans and groans, finally had the desired effect - a brand-spanking new orange BX - with accessories! Along with the FEL and BH with thumb, the package included a set of forks and frame, a post hole auger with 9" bit and a hydraulic front blade. I also added a 60" landscape rake, a BXpanded Piranha Blade for the bucket and an Under-Armor plate for the belly. Currently building a road to the rear of the property, which involves a 40' ramp that runs alongside the storage barn, up over some ledge I'm cutting through and back down the other side to a relatively flat area where I want put another storage building and equipment/toy corral. last photo shows the rock fragments I broke up and excavated for the ramp retaining wall. Using feathers and shims to break up the boulders and ledge, then used the thumb on the BH to lift them out. The open framed structure is part of the chicken run attached to the back of the barn. I had to build it over a huge granite outcropping that runs across the middle of the property.
