Hi my name is Dave i have been lurking for a while and what started the lurking was when I took a trip to the woods with my buddy and he brought his tc45 4x4 we dropped 8 trees ash and elm. I was amazed at how well a tractor could get around climbing hills in the snow and manuerving about like a billy goat then after we loaded a 18 ft bri-mar and his duramax we drove down the lane and he gets this bright idea to cut across the field and about half way across he buries the truck no more forward progress well we hook the tractor to the truck and couldn't believe that that tractor pulled him out, I was able to see first hand the usefull utility of a tractor pretty cool! so now I am looking to buy a used tractor it will be used primarily for hauling logs out of the woods to be used for firewood plow snow and thinking about growing some crops beans and corn just not sure about the crops maybe hay. I currently own a 773 bobcat 500k edition (cab with heat and air) and that is what I use currently to fetch wood.( it is also what I am working with to buy a tractor must sell first or trade) In the winter time it doesn't do so well in the snow so trips to the woods are not possible and when wet in the spring not possible hopefully some of you can let me know if a tractor 4x4 is a good idea for the woods in the winter and spring how much snow is too much and how much mud can a tractor go through I suppose as long as you have traction you're good to go. Thanks in advance. Dave
