Hi,
Still basking in the sunshine of Arizona, but will soon migrate back to Northeastern Pennsylvania after my daughter assures me that all the snow has melted!
We just closed on small horse farm that we had been leasing for almost a year. The "Farm" is about 23 acres in very hilly country just Southwest of Allentown, PA. Half the property is in woods, but the other is in pastures and lawn. The the lawn and pastures are about evenly divided with about five acres of lawn and seven acres of pastures.
We have small riding mower, Simplicity, which takes all weekend to mow.
I will need help in the selection of a mower. Zero turn? Perhaps a compact tractor. Needs: Field mowing, finish mowing, dragging indoor and outdoor arenas, snow removal, loading manure pile into speader. From what I have seen, the John Deere and Kubota products are the most interesting from reviews by owners. My challenge is to perhaps get a unit that does all like the Kubota BX series, or go with a Zero Turn mower and a separate larger tractor for the field mowing, bush hogging, stump removal, digging ditches and leveling parking areas. Privious owner did finish mowing with a four wheel drive Quad pulling a self powered finish mower.
Any input would be appreciated.
