Hi, Everyone!
I don't really know what to say other than, I grew up on a 20-acre small-scale farm and then moved to the city for almost 20 years. We were finally able to buy our first house :cool2: and it's in green country Oklahoma. We've got just under 14 acres and I'm anxious to be able to have a garden in the ground this year (instead of in containers!) Our five-year plan includes a progressively larger vegetable garden, chickens, a donkey, a few goats, and a couple of horses. Maybe a couple of steers way down the line. Don't worry. We're taking it slow and being smart. Even though I grew up with chickens, turkeys and other small game and a huge garden, I have a lot of research to do before enter into the animal phase of our plans. The gardening I've been working on for years, so I think that's the place to start. I'd love to have a coop ready for chickens starting next spring... but when I think of things realistically... it'll actually be spring 2017 before my feathered friends enter the picture.
Thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure to ask for and I sincerely hope I can offer some up along the way
OMG, :confused2: I rambled on about all that and forgot to add that we are the proud owners of a 1958 John Deere 620.
