Kubota L3400
Hello All -

We live near Columbia, SC and just purchased a new to me Kubota L3400 MT4WD. We have 10 acres in WNC and I'm in a lease of 400+ acres for hunting and both properties always seem to need some work done that requires more than a shovel.

Not knowing it's maintenance history I picked up the WSM and figured I would perform the 50 & 100 hour service procedures. I also had to rework the oil pan as there was a lot of seepage from the area - not sure why the PO was in there, but he left 11 of the 20 bolts out. Strange.

Headlight assy was broken so I replaced with a 17" LED light bar, oil and filter change (and oil pan rework), temp gauge hooked back up and still to do the hydraulic fluid & filter, front axle fluid, all points greasing, engine coolant and figure out why the GP key switch position seems to do nothing.

It does experience a bit of the jerky 3pt hitch syndrome common with the L3400, but nothing I can't live with. Other than that, the unit seems to be in excellent working condition as one would expect of a low hour tractor.

So far for attachments, it came with a Gannon 66" rollover box blade (earthcavator?), a buddy had an extra landscape rake which he donated and I am searching for an FEL, brush hog and ???

Other projects planned - rear work lights, toolbox, 3 spool valve (2 for rear, one for front grapple once I source an FEL), widen the rear tire stance, tire ballast and to use the darn thing.

I've been lurking for a while and already appreciate the collective knowledge here and I know I will be digging for more as well as one day adding back to the community.

Wishing you all well -

Ray

\To TBN Ray. This is a great site to get answers for any question.

When I was stationed at Shaw AFB in Sumter, I went through Columbia a lot. Much nicer area than further south.

Eutawville>> small town outside of Santee>> on the lake.. My little piece of Heaven..

Been through there on the scooter before, nothing wrong with a small town and there is some nice riding all down throughout that part of the state.

jeff9366 - Thanks for the links, the implement link from LSU is very informative.

mddorange - Yes, sadly the I95 corridor only gets news & attention during elections, but there are some nice MC'ing roads and small towns to check out down there and good people. Thanks for your service - I'm 34 years in Army Guard, full-time for 30, 1 OIF and 2 OEF tours under my belt. Nothing exciting as I work in communications, mostly strategic.
