I myself am a new Mahindra owner after many months of hard looking. I personally found them to be the best suited for my terrain being heavier than everything else within my pricerange.

As Murph asked, what are your planned tasks for the machine?

Just purchased a new Mahindra 5530 2wd. As you said its alot of tractor for reasonable prices. I think you would be happy with it. I also added FEL and bush hog, but without those I think you would be close to your price range. But as others have said it all depends on what youre doing with it, plus for only 8 acres might be a little overkill. Good luck.

Hi all - Thank you for the warm welcome. Tasks for the tractor will be land clearance, light forestry, post pounding and other relative tasks. Have some steep sections and some rocks here and there. Once the area is better cleared, tractor will be used for grounds maintenence, tree management and general farm tasks. Any suggestiones would be much appreciated.
