If there is an introduction section I missed it, but I thought I might as well introduce myself here on the PT forums because this is where I'll be hanging mostly.
I live in Lufkin Texas right now but as soon as I can I'll be headed to the Ozark region of Arkansas.
My fascination with tractors began when I was 16 and I took a job bushgging highway frontage for a local contractor in the summer. When I started all he had was a couple of old Massey tractors that would wear a man out in a day. It was like Christmas when the next summer he put me in JD 2755 cab tractor. I was hooked then and have been ever since.
I bought a kioti LB 1914 several years back and I used it for everything I could think of, and for anyone considering the purchase of a conventional CUT Kioti is about as good as their is IMO
Anyway I ended up selling that tractor and all the attachments for the payoff which was about 6,500 at the time (yeah cocaine is a terrible thing) and I have been kicking myself ever since. Now after two years of clean and sober and putting my life back in order I find myself looking for another tractor. Two actually. That brings me to how I found this place.
I was looking for something small capable and versatile. I wasn't even aware of anything called powertrac or nothing like it. One day while browsing at Home Depot I spotted this little piece of rental equipment called power pro I believe it was. I thought hmm,, if I could get something like that in a tractor it would be perfect. At first I thought I would just build my own, but on a whim I decided to google "power pro" and "small versatile tractors"
The first thing I saw was Steiner, and then it was ventrac and by the time I got to Powertracs website I was wondering how this could be such a well kept secret. I am completely sold.
When I found TBN I was surprised that there were so many other weird people like me out there like me who were so into tractors and working land etc,.. that their was actually a web site.I thought I was the only one. Whenever my friends are golfing or bass fishing I can be found gardening or clearing land. Its a hobby for me.
So in conlusion. I'll be looking for a used pT425 or 1430 I prefer diesel engines but I wonder if it's nimble enough for me compared to the 425. Once I find the 30 acres or 40 in Ar I will also get a Cab for the Big jobs maybe the b3030 or GrandL 3130 IDK. But first things first I gotta have one of these PT's.
This is a great website. I have watched all of Mossroad's videos twice. Thanks to all of you for your information.
