Hey all.
My name is Jim and I'm the proud owner of a 2011 LS 27 HP Compact Tractor and I love it. It's been a great machine. I'm retired Army and the wife and I have settled down on a 30 acre, mostly forested, piece of land here in NC near Ft. Bragg. We have 7 acres of meadow that we've turned into orchard and vineyard and also have about an acre we garden. We have about all the gear for it we need to tend this little farm project but I am looking for some advice on two items I plan to purchase or built.
1. I have a 100 gallon water tank. We've used it so far mostly as a cistern with our travel trailer until we got established here. Now than we're in the house and on a well, I want to turn the tank into a 100 gallon water wagon/trailer. Can anyone direct me to a DIY plan of a 4 wheel metal frame trailer that I could outfit the tank with. I'm probably also going to mount a 26 gallon sprayer tank on it.
2. Since I've gotten the LS, I've been looking for an excuse to mount a backhoe on it. (Because, why not?
) Since we've started working the land I can see I actually do need one. So, compact tractor, small backhoe. How easily has anyone has anyone out there purchased and installed one themselves? If there is any LS compact owner specifically who has done this, I'd be excited to hear about their project.
