I just wanted ya'll to know I've always wanted to be able to talk and learn about tractors-America's love of a plowed field and how we feed the world starts with some of us. I've probably read several of you're informative answers to other member questions, but I wanted to be able to jump in too. I've been a small time farmer since I got out of the textile busines 25 yrs. ago and wanted to grow a few gardens and sell the produce off some of them too maybe go deer hunting in the fall and I'm a happy man. I'm I guess you could say is an old dependent thats still married to my parents for nearly 55 years. I love the country and live in norteast GA. and moved where i'm now when my grandma passed away dad wanted to move out from town to grandma's place. We use to get this old man to plow our gardens and dad bought a 4-wheel drive FORD 1310 COMPACT TRACTOR AND ABOUT 6 ATTACHMENTS THAT CAME WITH IT. I soon started using and learning how to use this tractor and its attachments. I'll never forget the day they unloaded this 1984 ford 1310 tractor and was driving away when I got on it and started to go and it moved in the slowest granny gear there was. I thought he had just sold us a lemon and began to try to stop them. To my surprise I found out tractors have 2 sets of gears and different ranges. WHHEEW WHAT A RELIEF MAN! I guess it was about 1990 then and I've been plowing, tilling, mowing and bush hogging everything in our neighborhood. I've had a few problems and came to ya'll when I was lost about a particular mechanicle lesson to learn and fix it myself. ANYHOW I GLAD TO BE A MEMBER OF THE TRACTOR GANG NOW AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO DIVE INTO THESE QUESTIONS WITH SOMEBODY TEACHING ME TO BE MORE SELF-RELIANT AND BE WITH OLE COUNTRY FOLK LIKE YA'LL--THANKS RANDY
