I just wanted to say hi -- I am learning as I go with the tractor, so this forum looks like a great resource and comes highly recommended.
I'm in the process of building a 10-acre farm for my horses (I am a 3-day-eventer), the house is almost done and if I'm lucky, I get to move before....spring?? I AM lucky in that the property was established pasture with good fencing and I have wonderful neighbours including the God of Tractors who owns my new best friend: his hydraulic post driver on his 100 hp John Deere!
I made a deal with my best friend since she no longer has her farm so now her tractor is living with me! :cool2: It has been well maintained, but the person who stored it for her left everything outside, so I'm going to detail it all for her.
I can drive just about anything, and goodness knows I've spent plenty of time cursing at our outboards at work and have done a lot of my own vehicle work on gas and diesels, but these tractors are a new world to learn for me. I got my driving and bush-hogging lessons, this weekend we'll be setting up the augur so I can put in the new mailbox!
I look forward to getting to know some folks and learning as I go (I am Safety **** and even though I have not owned a tractor, I know the safety rules and parts and oh yeah, gravity).
