Hello to all. Just bought ourselves a nice 60 acre property in North Texas. 55 acres ag exempt for hay. We spent 2.5 months trying to find someone to cut and bale before giving up and just buying all the equipment ourselves.
Now that's not the sanest move in the world but it's done
Come to find out the two gentleman that had been custom baling/shredding the area around us for the last 20 years are suddenly [one passed away/ one too ill to work] unavailable and now EVERYONE is scrambling for someone to bale their property.
Question #1: What type of insurance do we need to have to do this [already have equipment fully insured]?
Question #2: Are there stock "contracts" that custom balers use?
Question #3: What's the best way to work the pay? Do you take a deposit at the start and the balance at the end? Ask for all upfront? Wait until the end?
Total newbies here so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.....
