I have been reading thru the forums here for several weeks. The information I have found here has been very helpful. I purchased a JD 2305 a few years ago to mow a steep bank behind my house. I got tired of trying to find people to cut the bank with a weed eater. About 2 years ago I decided a needed a healthier lifestyle, and decided to pursue cattle farming. My primary profession is a pharmacist (not much physical activity). I purchased about 340 acres of land with a house that I am still remodeling. Most of the land is hill side land; however, the benches that were left from previous strip mining left about 50 acres of potential pasture, and about 25 acres of currently usable pasture. We had a terrible ice storm last year that toppled about every pine tree. I bought a kubota m7040 a few weeks ago to clean up the mess. I am almost finished remodeling the house. After that is complete I plan on running some fence line and buying about 8 cows. I plan on starting with just a few cows and expand as time and my ability permits.
I have several hobbies. I enjoy training beagles to rabbit hunt, and can't wait for it to cool off some to get my 5 pups into the field. I also like to hunt deer and turkey. I fish for multiple species of fish, everything from bluegill to stripped bass. I also have a PPL and enjoy flying small airplanes.
Well i guess I have been a little long winded, I look forward to chatting with everyone,
Thanks
