I'm a new member but have visited as a guest before. I have always had a tractor or two of one kind or another since I was 5, yes it was a pedal powered (kid powered) chain drive IH tractor! It's 50 years old and I still have it. My first tractors were IH tractors, an F20, H and a Super M. I just loved watching the Super M's tires set her lugs into the earth as it clawed its way forward while pulling plow or harrow and the sound of the H's gearbox as I hit high gear moving from one field to another. I am now reduced to only 2 acres so I have only 2 garden tractors, a Toro Wheel Horse 520xi and a JD 455. The JD was given to me and needs a bit of TLC, despite its idiosyncrasies I really like this miniature "real" tractor. The Toro Wheel Horse is impressive though, its simplicity and reliability can not be beat and my wife loves this one best. In any event I'm going to take advantage of this site to see what's up with my JD now! I'm getting better with diesels but I've got a way to go before I'm solid. It'll be great to listen to what others have to say about their experiences, I think I'll learn a lot.
