I have a problem with my 2210 John Deere compact-it will not start by the key( no click) battery shows over 13 volts/ there is Current to starter. I checked the grounds. Any ideas would be helpful
Thanks

I have a 2210. If the engine will not crank, there are two interlocks that will inhibit the starter: The PTO switch and the High/Low/Neutral lever. The PTO button must be in, and the shift lever in neutral. A fault in one of those areas could be your problem.

Are you getting activation voltage to the solenoid? If not, Dan's solution is probably the correct one. If you are getting power to the solenoid is it activating?

It's a bit disappointing when someone comes along with an issue and then never posts a follow up. It happens all too often.

agree.....I stopped responding/trying to help the ones that have just one post. Occasionally they'll come back with a second post, and I'll chime in if I can be of (potential) help.

Sometimes the poster has no idea how fast a response can be from TBN. If used to other Forums, may not expect a quick reply.
Also, the poster may not be where the "tractor" is handy to test out the suggestions given. Lots of potential reasons, but this poster did come back on TBN around 5 pm so maybe he will fill us in sometime.
Lets give him the benefit of the doubt. We are not owed anything just because we try to help. IMO

Sorry, been working-Yes, have voltage to starter just got done using it (charged the battery and it fired right up)- but for some reason it’s not charging have voltage from the alternator ( it’s not that old) so just kinda stumped didn’t know if a relay would cause it not to charge or if maybe voltage regulator would cause it? Don’t know how to check it

I do have voltage to starter - I charged the battery back up it turns over and runs but it’s not charging the battery. There is voltage from alternator- figure maybe voltage regulator or relay is not working not sure how to check them.. any ideas?
