Oil & Fuel Help -757 oil question.

I was told at the dealer to put in hydro oil for the trans. I read the manual and it says 15W40. I do not know who to believe. I put the low vis stuff in and I am debating - I might need ot flush that out and put in 15W40 and another new filter.

Could the manual be wrong?

The Operator's Manual is correct - 15W40 oil in your hydraulic system. This is straight from the John Deere Dealer Technical Assistance Center:

The following oils have been qualified to be used in the engine and hydraulic systems for the following product lines:

I hope that helps you some! In case you are not familiar - "Turf-Gard" and "Plus-50" are John Deere brands / designations...

That is the same as the engine oil in my 5525 - I have a couple gallons here.

Man, I wonder if that would have torn something up if I had put that fluid in it.

I really dont care about the cost of the oil - the last thing I want to do is burn up my $8000 mower!
