I have a Leinbach L-7200 3 point post auger that I purchase at a local farm auction but once I used it realized that the shaft was bent and it doesn't do a good job being so out of balance with the bent shaft. It's a 12" auger and I'm looking to replace it but I want to make sure the replacement will fit. its a 2" shaft and 42" long. Any advice or recommendations on a replacement auger? Will any 2 inch replacement auger fit? Thanks for any input!

Not around here. There are 3 different mating mechanisms I have seen.

2" round is the common tractor & low end auger connection. There is a bigger round one & a splined one as well. They are more common on bigger skid steer hydraulic units.

I have the same auger, and it's a great gear box, but a horrible auger. You are lucky it bent, now you can get a good replacement. I've tried to different brands. Speeco and Country Line. Both fit perfectly. Of the two, the Country Line is much better. More aggressive, and better replacement teeth. I bought mine at Tractor Supply for something like $120

It took less that two minutes to google and post this info I installed this auger after bending the cheapo auger on my TSC sourced machine.

The "economical" post hole diggers are about the same design... you should be able to find a replacement.

I have the Leinbach L-7300 with a 12" but found a bent 6" auger. Used a friend's press (light weight one) and carefully bent it back into shape. The augers are not that heavy duty. I'm sure it is a bit weaker from bending and I'm sure it will bend again. For almost all the holes I'll dig it's fine.

I would try and bend it back into shape...

I picked up a 12" auger from Big Red for $150 or so. Pretty sure it was a Speeco. 150-200 holes later the holes for the mounting pins on the top were starting to tear & ovaled out.

That auger ran off with my L3200 & PHD. I still have the 12" Pengo auger I bought at my Kubota dealer for $350 or so. It's twice as heavy & has a mounting collar 3 times as thick as the Speeco (which was just pipe, no reinforcing collar.

Most of the cheap augers are just that light pipe. My 6" auger doesn't have any mounting tears & my 9" is another Pengo. I'm guessing the 12", maybe a 9" finally starts putting enough stress on the thin pipe to start tearing.

The cheap ones will be fine if you are just doing 1 fence on up to 10 acres or so. If you are doing more than that, you need a stronger auger.

The Pengo and Danuser brands are top of the line. Very good in every regard. They also cost a lot more and for most of us using a 3 point hitch to drill post holes, not worth the extra money. If you go that route, you really should look into a hydraulic motor to run them, and a mount for your front loader to operate it. Even better is to mount one on an excavator!!!! But for most of us, I don't think you can find a better value then the Country Line brand at Tractor Supply.
