Hello gentlemen,
I have a big problem.. My TC 29 starded spewing hydrolic fluid through the bottom of the radiator!!!I checked the L shaped hoses and changed them.
I dont understand it, because why would hyd. oil be spilling out off the fins and at the botom of the radiator? Also, why is there only one hose runnin to the radiator for the oil cooler, shouldnt there be 2?
Thank you for your input

Something here just doesn't make sense to me. There has to be one line taking the hydraulic fluid to the cooler and another returning it. Are we talking about an oil cooler in the radiator or simply one in front of the radiator? You say it's spewing hydraulic fluid. Is coolant (antifreeze) also leaking? My first thought is that you have a leaking oil cooler, separate from the radiator, but so close to the radiator that the leaking hydraulic oil is hitting the radiator, then dripping from the bottom of it. But of course I can't be sure without seeing it.

Is your battery leaking acid? There have been allot of reports about NH's and JD's using battery's that leak acid, then the acid eats at the hydraulic cooler causing leaks.

Thank you bird for responding, I never thought of that, your right though,
it could be a bad oil cooler, if so how can you tell if its bad?also i did notice a rubber hose that is located on the necetive side of the battery( at the bottom of the radiator)that was gushing rad. fluid, from it. But what i dont understand is, it read oil cooler hose? and yes, there was alittle rad.fluid mixed with the hyd. oil.
I know its late, but thanks bird for your time. thanks Kennyd, but i changed it about 7 months ago

The TC29 and a lot of other class II New Hollands have a problem with the hydrostatic transmission cooler hoses leaking. This problem has been posted about many times here in this forum and there is even a "fix" from New Holland. I think most likely your problem is this. Are you sure there is also antifreeze leaking? If so, you may have actually punctured both the HST cooler hoses and the radiator. If you don't have an HST tractor, you may be seeing a leak in front hydraulic steering hoses. On a non-HST tractor, that's the only thing that would have hydraulic fluid that far forward.

Sounds like a puncture in oil cooler AND radiator. Remove oil cooler and pressure test it. Remove radiator and have it pressure tested also.

The black hose on negative battery side is overflow line for radiator. Follow it and it will go to just under radiator cap.

CAUTION: if you are checking for cooler leaks with engine running, this oil is under high pressure and can/will hurt you.

If you have radiator fluid leaking you have more problems than just a hydrualic hose leak. The hose can leak and spew oil all over and will come back out in places you wouldn't think of but radiator fluid is another thing. I would be watching close if I was you.
