Ford 1210
Hi Guys & Girls I have a Ford 1210 with a front loader and lewis Landlord 200 Backhoe When using the Tractor only, with the backhoe parked central position, it moves & swings the full movement both ways is this normal, or is a valve letting past, the only way to stop it is to chain it in the central position

Mine was swinging whenever other valves in the stack were in a relief condition. It was a bad swing valve section and I had to replace it.

Are you saying yours swings freely or that it powers itself back and forth e.g. when you are using other hydraulic functions?
Is your backhoe running off a power beyond loop, remote valve, or it's own pump?
If it's running off a power beyond loop does it have a separate (3rd) low pressure return line?

Thanks for the reply. It is an independent unit has its own hydraulics and tank and takes its power from the PTO unit.Yes it has a 3rd low presure line and a flow control valve.

It sounds like either the valve or cylinder is allowing fluid to bypass. If it has a cushion valve in the swing circuit that could also be the culprit. You could contact the mfg and see if they know of any common issues.

If fluid is causing something to move after the valve, then the valve is at fault, o-rings, spools worn, sticky spools, etc. Clean, repair, or replace the valve.
