Just what my title says.
As I posted earlier, my front loader wouldn't lift one.
Well I finally bought a 3 point bale attachment to pick up my rounds.
As you guys said that's what I need to use.
So, is my valve limit set to low.
I had to drag them.
Thanks for your help.
And Merry Christmas!
Terry

Time to get a hydraulic pressure gauge. Assuming you have quick connects on your machine it should be pretty simple to hook up and see what kind of pressure your machine is producing.

Thank you! That sounds perfect!
I am understanding correctly, this 3 point should do this, CORRECT!
Thanks.
I can check with my work maintenance buddies, for a gauge.

Sorry no. Look at tractordata.com

Rear Type: 1
Rear lift (at 24"/610mm): 1,225 lbs [555 kg]
1,400 lbs [635 kg] (with loader)

If you have a good dealer he may be able to tweak it.

It looks like I would even be maxed out.

I don't claim to be an expert here but I am doubting your tractor is large enough to move 1500# bales. Not saying you can't up the pressure by changing the relief valve setting but I wouldn't recommend it. The specs on the 225 is 1508# at the pins, 1100# 24" back. A 1500# bale sticks back further than 24" so you will be overloaded.

Powerscol replied before I completed. Don't know where Tractor data gets there specs but what I put above is straight out of the repair manual under spec-10-3.

POWERSCOL related specs for Three Point Hitch lift.

Bobcat CT225

2008 - 2013
Compact Utility tractor
Series next: Bobcat CT230
Series back: Bobcat CT122

Attachments
Loader type: Bobcat 7TL
Weight: 735 lbs [333 kg] (with bucket)
Height (to pin): 84.3 inches [214 cm]
Dump angle: 46
Rollback angle: 21
Breakout force (lift): 1,904 lbs [863 kg]
Lift to full height (at 500mm): 1,225 lbs [555 kg]

To lift a 1,500 pound round bales JUST OFF THE GROUND with FEL of any tractor would require about 1,100 pounds of counterbalance mounted on Three Point Hitch.

Consider moving 1,500 pound round bales with a Three Point Hitch bale spear.

Bobcat CT225
3-Point Hitch:
Rear Type: 1
Rear lift (at 24"/610mm): 1,225 lbs [555 kg]
1,400 lbs [635 kg] (with loader)

The weight of Three Point Hitch bale spear has to be calculated as part of payload. If the hay is dry, you might just have enough Three Point Hitch lift to move bales, or at least your smaller bales.

A tractor with 1,000 engine hours on the clock will not have quite the lift capacity, front or rear, of a NEW tractor.
Maybe 90% ?

Caution with heavy loads, front or rear. If a wheel drops into a rut or hole it is easy to roll a loaded tractor.

FWIW...tractordata.com says this for the CT225:

Rear lift (at 24"/610mm): 1,225 lbs [555 kg]
1,400 lbs [635 kg] (with loader)

Yep, for handling round bales with regularity you're going to need at least a CT440 (41hp tractor).
