Kubota L3901
Hi all.
Been looking around on the forum for a while now and I am interested in constructing a 3rd Function for the front of my Kubota L3901. I have seen LD1's post of his grapple and a couple of other ones on the site and frankly, I am not sure where to start. One thing I am stumped on is I have dealer installed rear remotes for my 3pt and then plumb in the block below the floor. I have tried to label all my lines in hopes that someone can explain how I should plumb this. Let me know if more info is needed.

For parts, I was planning on first buying the Open Center DO3 Subplate and the Open Center solenoid valves in order to find a mounting location. I can weld up a mount to bolt-on somewhere, I know the Landpride kit mounts below the loader valve on a bracket so maybe I can do something like that. Then I was going to buy any fittings and lines I need to plumb in order to make it all work. I will also need to find a knob with some buttons to make it all work and figure out the electrical but I'll get there when I get there.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Could really use the help. Thanks!

Personally I would prefer a diverter on the loaders curl function rather then a third function.
I am using one of my rear remotes to work my grapple.

My only concern about doing it that way is in my mind you want to be able to potentially do it all at once and not have to mess around going back forth between operating the function and curling. Thanks for input though.

You need a open center tandem solenoid valve, then find the outlet on the loader valve mark PB (power beyond) , the hose at that location should run down to the block under your step, you would remove that hose from were it connects to the block under the floor board, then connect it to the inlet of the new solenoid valve. Then you will need a new hose to run from the outlet of the solenoid valve back to were you removed the hose from the block under your step. Then run two hoses from the work ports of the new solenoid valve up the loader arm to your attachments.

I added a third function to my JD 855 through the Power Beyond kit (hydraulic output for backhoe). I mounted a log splitter valve on the ROPS which has hoses connecting it to the PBK (power beyond). I then ran hoses behind the back fender, under the floor boards, and along the loader arms. I used zip ties and bungees to hold the hoses out of the way of any moving parts. I can provide pictures on Saturday if you would like but I am currently on a business trip and will not be back until Friday night.
