HELP - Cat smell under house

Wow, It really stinks. I blocked off the area to get in to keep it out, but now what can I do about the smell??

If it's the spray smell from him marking his territory you'll have to burn the house down. If it's from the kitty waste , get your pooper scouper out.

Ventilation is your answer, do whatever you can to get the air to move under home like install hardware cloth or something like that, I have a similar problem with cats marking their territory on an open porch, It's like walking thru a litter box before entering house.
I love cats, it's what they do that bugs me

I have a problem with cats being dropped off around here.. We had 14 that we counted last summer.. and then they have kittens!
I had a small bottle of coyote urine here (use it for hunting) and a few drops seemed to convince the cats that it was a bad area to frequent. We do have quite a few coyotes around this area..
A couple drops of the coyote pee smelled like perfume compared to having 7 tomcats spraying.. The suggestion about ventilation is also a good idea.

If ClOrOx, that is how my inlaws pronounce Clorox, aka bleach, , try lime. People used it to cover the contents of outhouses with lime to control the smell.

Try "Natures Miracle - Just for Cats". It's an enzyme solution that really works. I had a much worse problem where I had to clear the smell out of an inside basement of a house, and I just loaded up a couple gallons of the Natures Miracle into a garden sprayer and saturated everything with it. It knocked the smell right out permanently neutralized it.

Enzyme is the ticket...it will eat the bacteria causing the odor. I use "Natures Miracle" and it works. I am sure there are similar enzyme products that would also work

This is my favorite!

I ended up using one of the enzyme products. I lucked out somwhat because I could see where he sprayed on the plastic vapor barrier of our crawl-space.

The enzyme products are good.. but if you have a large area to cover.. you'll go broke.

A 5$ / 50# bag of hi-cal ag lime will do the job though. make sure you wear goggles and a breather mask and gloves.. the stuff will eat you up...

If you drop some and it makes a cloud.. close your eyes, and hold your breath for a few seconds to let it settle..

It can kill more than just the odor. Urine contains ammonia and when it's mixed with clorox it produces clorine gas which is very hard on the lungs.

I'd also be warry about shooting under my house... never know what 'else' you will hit. ( gas line, sewer line, water line, metal crossmember.. etc.. etc.. )

I was thinking interdiction. Call it preventive maintenance. Maybe start 100 yards away from the house.
