OK, I have an update on my control lever for my JD 7 backhoe and my woes have gotten bigger 
I took the control box shields off and peered into the heart of the matter and saw the folllowing;
Operate outrigger on right side......leak at the base of the spool??
Operate control arm on right side....leak at the base of the spool??
Wrong terminology?? I don't know.... but what I do know is that there is hydro fluid comming from two 1 1/8" hex plugs. I believe that they will come out and there is a o-ring or something to seal it but how does one loosen these buggers> The socket will not fit between the housing and over the hex plug!
Do I need to take all my hoses off and use an open ended wrench? If I go this far should I be rebuilding the rest??
