Excuse my ignorance, but why do you need a 2 basket hay tedder? Can't you just have the sickle mower, 4 wheel rake, and the baler? I am finding this thread very interesting. I would also like to bale around 10 acres but my tractor is only a 32hp Mahindra.

If you are patient and work with the weather, you don't need a tedder. A tedder just brings the hay up about 1 day earlier. When it is rainey during hay harvest time they pay for they're selves pretty quick. Ken Sweet

I agree. Around here, we are lucky to get 3 good days in a row and it takes 3 days to dry hay here when you are tedding it daily.
Without a tedder we would need 4-5 days to dry the hay.
