I got a couple loader quick disconnect fittings I need to undo. One I got undone with no problem the other I have been trying to get apart for 30 mins now with no luck. Tractor is off and I have moved the valves around after it is off so there should not be any pressure in the line. I have tried pushing the fitting together while pulling back on the collar. I can't really think of a tool that would work very well on them. I tried using vice grip clamped onto the QD to get some more leverage but that didn't do much. They haven't been used since they were put on the tractor so maybe that is the issue. I can't unscrew the fitting from the implement-side hose either because it twists up on itself. Any tricks to getting these off?

Try taking some penetrating oil and let it soak down on the collar for about 10 min. and tap lightly with the handle end of a screwdriver and then pull the collar back, this might take several attempts. My guess is the little locking balls may be rusted in the collar. Hope this helps, good luck!!

Kroil or Liquid Wrench would probably work well, it works on the rusty old bolts on my truck.

As already suggested-use a penatrating oil. The male nipple should turn freely inside of the female coupler easily so I suspect they are rusted together.

Yea that was the problem. The female part is rusted so bad it is not salvagable. I ended up undoing all the fittings around it to get the QD out and then put the coupler in a bench vice and hit it with a hammer a few times to get it to uncouple.

I'll have to figure out something to prevent this from happening again. I'm thinking maybe wrapping silicone fusion tape around the QD fittings whenever I am not using them for a while so water doesn't get into the collar and sit there rusting everything up.

pack em with grease and rubber band a ziplock baggie around them if they are a kind that you cant use a standard cap and plug on.
