Hi All - I damaged this double pulley industrial clutch. Let my ignorance be a warning. I removed the bell housing for a repair and THEN started the 8HP engine causing the heavy shoes to slingshot around the room at 2000+ RPM. Lucky one didn't hit my thick skull!
In the process the two garter springs were damaged beyond use. I want to replace them but there is no ID info anywhere on the clutch itself. Photos are attached.
The Clutch has a 1" bore, max diameter of the housing is 4 3/8" and max height of the unit is 3". Ultimate question would be, where can I get replacement springs and what mfr./part # are they? Comet has springs for a similar industrial clutch, available in ascending weights so that they engage the clutch at different speeds. Would they be useable?
Any thoughts, answers, etc. are welcome. I'm trying to avoid spending $100 - $200 to replace the entire clutch and, yes, I'm an idiot for such an unsafe practice. Won't do it again!
