Can anyone help identify this Melrose SSQA adapter to ?? It is on a large bucket and it is not coming off without a fight. I want to know if it is useful for anything before I cut off all the excess steel to lighten it up.
The top pins on the adapter hook into pockets on the bucket, then the bottom pins enter straight into pockets, then you flip that T-handle to the left which allows two small pins to secure it in place.

Looks like a variation of the Euro Quick Attach. Same principle anyway but different dimensions. Hooks on top and pin through at the bottom. Super safe and easy to use.

You need to move the handle to unlock the pins. Then lift the bottom up without letting it slide down and you should then be able to slide it off the top hooks.

If you connect it to a tractor or machine it may be easier to pull out.

Thanks.

The lock pins move relatively free, when I use a punch to retract them, the springs in the linkage actually move them back to where they started so I don't think they are the problem.

I have had it on a small machine using power down and curl and it stayed on. I inserted a pry bar and moved it about 1/4". (not sure I want it to come off because I am thinking when the bosses were welded on the bucket, it became distorted and is bound in place now, and if I get it off it might be a harder time getting it back on). If I can ID the brand and IF there are attachments readily available, I will fix it, otherwise cut it down to the basics to lighten it up for the smaller tractors.

I have been into tractors all my life and haven't seen something close to this in years and can't recall which brand front end loader it was on, the operator had hyd control to move the pins in.

Thanks again for your input.

Took it off the bucket, it is the most difficult to reattach that I have ever used!!!.. I had to get off the tractor and keep looking to line up, very precise with no entry ramp to guide it in.
It weighs too much.
Now I know why I don't see it much.
