Yanmar FX18D
Hello all
I have just noticed a small fuel leak on my FX18D. I've traced it down to this piece that attaches to the injector pump. It has a spring loaded plunger type device that I assume aids in bleeding the fuel system, with a fuel line from the filter and a return line. It is weeping fuel where is mounts to the injector pump, more so when you put any sideways pressure on it. I assume also that there is maybe a copper washer there that makes the seal that is worn. I have not disassembled it yet as I would prefere to have a replacement part on hand before taking it apart. The tractor is useable as it is, but sont know if the leak would be worse after removing this for inspection.
Any help identifying this part and verifying if this requires a washer as a seal would be appreciated.

Whatever it is, I doubt there are parts available. Best bet is to just disassemble and fix it.

the part is a manual pump to prime the system....should be easy to fix

We have 2 FX18-D parts tractors here for what ever you need.

However, I would unscrew the nut that holds the plunger assembly and check out the 0 ring before buying anything.

Also the hose attached to the top looks like it could be recut and put back on or replaced.

I assume aids in bleeding the fuel system

You are correct. It is just Yanmars newer version of the bleeder screw. Instead of running fuel out on the ground like a bleeder screw it runs it back to the fuel tank. It is just a valve.

Thanks all for your replies
I decided to go ahead and take this valve off to investigate. As I thought, it seals to the pump with a copper washer. Replaced the copper washer, replaced the fuel line and all is well! This is actually the first repair of any type in over 2 years and several hundred hours on this tractor, other than normal filter and fluid changes. Its a real testament to Yanmar that any mechanical device can run for over 30 years and require so little repair. As far as I can tell, everything on this tractor is original.

Thanks Tractor Earnie...its good to know that there are a few parts tractors out there if needed. I will keep you in mind if needed in the future.
