Tractor
MF 1260
I have recently purchased a used MF1260 with a 1246 FEL, my first tractor. The loader needs some welding/hydraulic work so I want to dismount the loader so I can continue to use the tractor and to make it easier to replace the alternator which also needs to be done. I have the loader operating manual so I am fairly clear on the procedure except the final step:

"If tractor hydraulics were used for loader operation pressure and return couplers on tractor must be connected together to prevent hydraulic system damage and permit operation of three point hitch."

I assume I am using "tractor hydraulics" (how could it be otherwise??). Do I need to purchase some sort of adapter to connect these lines together? If so what do I ask for?

Thanks,
Jeff

The two lines that connect to the loader valve to the tractor should have two quick connects on it, a male and a female. You uncouple the two sets and recouple them back to each other so the oil can circulate thru the pump back to tank or thru the second circuit if you have one.
If you don't couple them back together you'll blow the pump as it's deadheaded with no pressure relief in the circuit. Mines a Koyker but I would assume it's the same procedure......Mike
