Price Check Help in pricing salvage and price of undamaged backhoe

Hi, my Dad's 2005 John Deere 410 SE Backhoe was used in fighting a bale fire. They hosed it down, but a fire sparked up in the middle of the night. The fire started under the cab and the fire wall stopped it from entering the engine and transmission. The front and back arms and hydraulics should be okay. All of the electrical and hoses should be replaced. Basically it needs a new cab complete with electrical and controls replaced. Of course the insurance didn't cover what my Dad paid for it originally. So I am in the tough place of salvaging the body for as much as I can but still stay reasonable. I would appreciate knowing the value if it were undamaged so I can make a better decision. The other thing would help if you guys could help me by recommending salvage businesses that might be interested or the best ways to approach it.

John Deere dealer should be able to put an undamaged price on it. Might be able to steer you toward a tractor salvage dealer.

Hopefully the Insurance Co. will replace it.

Very unfortunate series of events... for you as well as your Dad. There are several ways to approach your dilema - review auction results for a similar model with similar hours and search the used equipment sites for comparable price listings.

Hopefully, you will find enough information to work from a knowledgeable position with your insurance company as well as sufficient information to assist you with a decision regarding the salvage/repair of your Dad's TLB.

depending on how bad it burnt and if it was a extendahoe or standard dipper the machine will only bring between 5 and 8k unless it is a crispy critter
