HELP! L3130 has LOST 4WD...

I have let it go for 2 summers but cant take it anymore. I was pulling and digging stumps out where we were installing a pool. Something must have snapped and i lost the front drive. I'm pretty sharp at repairing most anything i just need some ideas on where to start. I really want to avoid taking her back to the dealer because of the $$$$. Thanks for any suggestions!

Just a common sense thought --- Have you checked the drive shaft to the front axle? Looks like the shaft has splined couplers positioned by roll pins. They have been known uncouple for various reasons.

782 does the tractor have a loader, if so raise the front end, see if the wheels spin freely while you spin one and a friend holds the opposite wheel still

But just in case somebody else has the same problem, on my L3240 the coupler on the propeller shaft to the front drive stripped the splines, and it was only about ten bux to replace it. It was, however, a very exciting ride to the bottom of the hill before I remembered I could drop the bucket full of rocks to stop... :shocked::confused2:
