The first picture shows the two remote valves on my Kubota M9540.

The second picture shows a close-up of the valves. There is fluid squirting out of the small hole whenever I use the remotes.

Fluid squirts out whenever either lever is moved, with or without the hoses connected.

1. What is causing this?
2. Can I repair it or is this a trip to the dealer.

Thanks for any assistance.

You should be able to fix that...probably just a O-ring or small seal. Ask your dealer for a parts breakdown of the valve to be sure.

Dealer did not have a parts breakdown. He is going to contact Kubota.

Are these valves difficult to work on?

Yes, the oil leaks out (squirts a fair amount) at the end of the valve at the very small hole.

Oil leaks whenever either valve is pressurized.

The second pic shows the hole.

Thanks for the quick replies. The dealer is going to order parts. I was not sure how serious this was but it looks like I should be able to repair this myself.

Akkamaan,

Sent you a pm.

You replied to a posting on 9-21-2010 regarding a leak from the cover plate on a remote valve on a Kubota m9540. Unfortunately, your above post / response diagram, photo or suggestion is no longer available. It appears you suggested some sort of seal or o-ring. I am having the same issue. Torn the dang valve apart numerous times and replaced all o-rings in process. Still have leaks through small weep hole in cover plate. Kubota dealers clueless.

Would you, (or anyone else with experience on this subject) please re-post whatever solution you came up with? I am hoping it is something I may have overlooked.

Greatly appreciate a reply.

Thank you,

john dear

After disassembling and not finding any trash or visible problems with the spool, seals or any of the valve parts, I had dealer order all seals in the valve. All valve seals was over $100, so I decided to remove valve and let the dealer replace. So if there was another problem they couldn't say it damaged or miss assembled the seals or valve parts when changing. So I removed valve and took to dealer, they replaced and I reinstalled, adjusted detent setscrew for correct operation and so far no leaks from hole at end of the valve.

So total it cost almost $200 to rebuild this valve, parts and labor. But new valve was priced by dealer at almost $1200.00.
