I totally intended on getting a bagger but my freind convinced me to give it a try without one. The BX basically mulches at high speed (PTO). I'd give it a shot before you invest the $$$.

Dave,

Called my dealer and ordered the bagger today. I'll keep everyone posted!

I completely agree with Rogue. The deck does a fantastic job of mulching. I mowed some fairly tall lawn grass and it looked perfect, no clumps at all. However, you might just want a bagger for Fall leaf pickup....that sounds mighty handy if you can justify the cost.

I have an Agri-Fab sweeper for pickup of leaves, etc. That way the kids can be picking up leaves or clippings while I am mowing a separate part of the lawn. But that is just my situation and since I had the sweeper couldn't justify the cost of a bagger when purchasing the tractor. Doesn't answer your question about the Kubota bagger so if you want you can just disregard this post. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for your responses so far. At the cost it is hard to justify. It'll be interesting to hear how rogue makes out. I wouldn't disregard any response. How does the sweeper work? I hate raking and have plenty of leaves here in NH.
Thanks again
Dave

Dave,Have a bagger for our BX,works great. We bag the lawn about every 3rd mowing, all the other comments are right, the deck does a great job of chewing up the clippings. We bought the bagger to pick up thatch that we dig up when we power rake in the late summer. With 3 acres of finished lawn,we dig up a "lot" of stuff.

Sweeper works real good if I can keep my son from driving around like he is at the race track. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif If you go too fast then it still sweeps but misses the bag and goes over the top. Kind of just spreading it around more. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I have a willow [darn *#$*(# thing] on my lawn, that my wife won't let me cut down and the sweeper is the only way I can keep up with the little leaves and twigs that it sheds all the time. It doesn't pick up all of them but at least makes the lawn presentable. Overall I really like it. The sweeper, not the willow.

Weeping Willow!

I cannot stand those trees! My solution......slowly girdle the thing over about six months with a few nips now and again with your chainsaw. That should take care of the problem; then you'll be "forced" to remove it. Of course, you must replace it with a tree of your wife's choice....just not another Willow :) A sugar maple would be perfect.

Re: Weeping Willow!

I girdled it toward the end of April. Kind of accidentally scuffed it with the side of my mower. My wife yelled at me for not being careful. "Oops! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Did I hit it?" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Actually I was being careful. Not to hurt the tractor. It is still thriving and shedding! I can't find any accidental manner to get rid of it. I am now working on the direct route. Give my wife some options... I will plant any other tree that you want, even a willow as long as it is not on a part of the lawn that I cut. Like up in the woods. Even build you a path and bench so you can look at it.. She is not biting.
