help...m5040 won't start

i was using the fel and grapple to pick up some heavy brush....back tires spun a bit and when they caught traction the tractor died...now when i go to start it, the tractor acts like one of the safety switches is not working...kind of like when you have it in gear, or don't have the parking break engaged...it just doesn't crank at all...all the lights come on...the fel will let pressure off and lower the boom...plenty of gas etc...any help is much appreciated...really would like to try something here before paying for a service call...thanks all!

ps...i'm not a seasoned tractor mechanic (obviously)...but do have average automotive mechanical skills...so don't be too technical if possible...lol

also i should note that the lights don't dim when u try to start...so obviously no juice at all going to starter...i was wondering since it died in gear could it be stuck in gear despite putting the shifter in neutral?...should i try pulling the tractor back a bit?...sorry if that's a stupid question...

I had a similar problem......safety switch most likely. Mine ended up being the HST pedal switch not returning to "neutral" for lack of a better word. A little lube and I was on my way. Hope its something simple

and where would i find this switch?

In my operator manual (L3130), it has a process to test all the safety switches as part of the 100 hr service I think. Perhaps yours too?

may have found the problem....a branch lodged under the right rear and unhooked the connectors leading to the pto switch....dash is showing pto on...will try to fix in the morn....i'll be back asking for more help if it doesn't work!
