So I've been going back/forth for a while now and have my tractor choices narrowed down to the final 2(4 actually). A LS xr4145hc, xr4150hc or Kioti nx4510hc or 5010hc. I'm more than likely going with a 50hp but what I can't decide on is which 50hp tractor. I'm getting tractor, loader, backhoe, and a few minor cab options. The kioti deal has given me his bottom dollar once he found out I was looking at LS. For a nx5010hc w/backhoe 12" bucket, 3rd function, 2 rear remotes, bh pads he's at $41,400 and that's as low as he can go. The LS dealer for the 4150hc, backhoe(not sure if his price included a bucket), loader, comes with 2 rear remotes, and wr long 3rd function installed is at $36,600, that was just his first price he gave me and we haven't talked about any offer or anything so I may be able to get another 1-2k lower "possibly". LS dealer is about 15 min away(also a NH dealer 15min the other way in case I can use any NH parts), kioti dealer is just over an hour away. Both dealers have been around for a long time, the kioti dealer has been selling kioti's for about 15 years I think. The LS dealer while being around for like 50 years has only been selling LS for just over a year(they've also been selling mahindra for 15 or so years). I like both dealers and the distance of the kioti dealer isn't to much of a concern.
Here is where I'm hung up though. Obviously the LS is cheaper and has a longer warranty. What I like about the kioti is the loader lifts higher and I do like the ergonomics of the cab layout with the pto switch and throttle being on the right side, it also has auto pto. The LS I like the instrument panel better and the seat has 2 armrests vs 1 in the Kioti. But the loader doesn't lift as high by a little over a foot. The pto switch is also to the right of the steering wheel along with the throttle which is common on a lot but not as ergonomically nice as the kioti, and no auto pto. The BH capabilties on the LS isn't as good as the kioti either. The LS is a little smaller in dimensions which I do like for being in the woods and stuff. The biggest thing that is holding me back is the loader lift height on the LS, if that was higher I would already have signed the paper work.
About what I'll be doing. I have just over 13 acres with about 1.5 acres cleared(maybe to much tractor but the deere and kubota 30hp range cab tractors w/bh where more than these two 50hp which is why I'm at a 50hp, spending less and getting more). I'm building a house on it as we speak, just about to be under roof this week. So I do have a lot of cleanup for that, landscaping and yard that will need to go in. Clearing maybe another half acre or so over the next year or two, maybe even putting in a small 1/6 acre pond and some basic clean up, grass cutting(when grass is there on the 1.5 acre portion) and maintaining of the 13 acres. The wooded part of it is pretty thick with a lot of pines on about 7 acres worth of it. Easy to push down because they are so thick in quantity/close together and not big roots but still a lot of them.
So there is my situation, I keep going back to the loader height of the LS though. As I stated if it had a max height of what the most other 40-50hp tractors have I would already be buying. The ergonomics of the kioti is also something I like and it's probably the 2nd reason why I haven't pulled the trigger yet completely on the LS. Right now it's about a 5k difference and the only thing I can't decide on is how to tackle the loader and ergo situation. I guess with the LS I can always build a dirt ramp or something if needed when loading into a dumpster or small dump truck. Here is a thread showing the height difference, post #26 http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...-xr4040c-owners-3.html?highlight=any+xr+3037c the user mentions a longer loader lift cylinder which I wonder if that can be done without messing up anything that could be in the way. But the does seem like the overall length loader is shorter compared to the one in the pic.
Thanks
Brian
