Tiller Help me identify this cultivator, please!

I recently bought a house with 12 acres, about 7 of that is field, 2/3 mowable grass, the rest is wooded. Over the past 3 or so months I've been taking walks around the property to get a real good feel of the land, the neighbors, etc.

Usually I find interesting stuff the previous owner has left behind. (There's a 1930's chevy in the woods I'm dying to drag out).

Anyway, I just pulled this c-tine cultivator out of the woods and I have couple of questions:



Can anyone ID the maker, the model?

Will my little Ariens YT8 will have a fighting chance?

(I have an MTD Select coming to me with the need of a new stator, that's 16-18hp)


The close up shot is of the handle/gear to raise/lower the tines. The front end has a clevis with a chain. It used to have 9 tines.

I may clean it up and use it, or clean it up and make a lawn ornament.

Oh, and I found a missing tine hanging in _*one*_ of the old broken down sheds on the property.

I don't know the brand, however, I would call it a section harrow. Ken Sweet

So, I've found it called a section harrow, spring tooth(ed) harrow, etc.

The depth adjuster is rusted so much it doesn't move, but I imagine some PB Blaster followed by a liberal use of a wire wheel will free it up.

I'm planning on making a home garden next spring, but will probably hire out the initial tilling, then follow yearly with the harrow.

So, sorry, not for sale (yet), unless my SO decides it has to go


(Found on acreage so far: kerosene heater, 1970 Yamah AT1, 1930's chevy, barrels, various poles, a canoe... more to come I'm sure)
