Tractor
Kubota MX5400 cab, Kubota L3560LE cab, Kubota L3301
Currently have a L3301 hst, loader, canopy, 3rd function, skid steer attach bucket, landpride grapple and several things to hook to the back end.
I also have a MF 231s and an old but fully functional commercial size backhoe. Keeping all of those.
Looking for a (new) Kubota cab tractor. 335 acres, mostly timber with fourteen 1-3 acre food plots. No row crops and no hay.
Would like something ~45-50hp. HST, deluxe model for the features/comfort with FEL.
I will be buying locally, very pleased with my current dealer.

Who has what and how do you like it?

Grand L's for sure;L4060 fits the bill.I have a similar older L4240 HSTC and it works perfect ;purchased new and currently has 1200 hours.

What are your plans for the timber? How much land are you going to be using the tractor?
I only have 45 acres of woods but if I was planning on going much work within the trees I think I might look into a skid steer with forestry door.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Will take a look at the grand L's.

Described my use in original post. Planting, plowing food plots and bush hogging the sides of my roads would be primary.
Timber will be harvested by a timber company when appropriate.
Former owner/operator of a forestry cutting machine. I don't need anything like that.

I have 110 acres of woods and food plots. I have about 8 acres of food plots. I really like the grand L tractors and the size of my 3560 is about right for my operation. I can see where a bit more HP may be of help to you if you like to run lots of PTO equipment.....but I don't have a lack of power with my implements.....most of which are in the 5 foot variety. Get the 805 loader and put a grapple on the front for dealing with downed timber. Makes short work of that chore. I like the smaller implements as I can get thru narrow trails and cover allot of ground quickly....and the implements are protected by the rear tires. Seems to work pretty well for me.

I mow several miles of trails and have ground over 3000 stumps out of my trails and food plots over the past ten years. My stump grinding days are now about over.....but seems each year there remain a few stumps to take out or some improvement to be made. The Grand L is a nice tractor.....you will like the tranny features and capabilities and comfort of this series.

I'd second the Grand L series of tractors.

I went with the L3560 with the 805 loader due to it being the smallest size in the Grand L series with a weight and specifications (other than HP) exceeding all the standard L series except the L4701, and it wasn't far from matching (or exceeding in some aspects) the MX line of tractors either.

It handles 6ft EA box blade, well enough that I wish I'd gone with the hinged back version instead. Also does well with a 72" finishing mower (used to mow lawn and pastures ~2.5 acres in all). Also does well with a grapple, removed more than a few saplings, and hauled more than a few piles of brush with it, along with pushing over smaller trees with a grapple.

Haven't had any significant issues since I've got it new 2 years ago (closing on 150hrs of operation). Had to tighten up a few hydraulic fittings initially since they started leaking under heavy load while digging out a stump, but overall I've been more than happy with it.

If I was planning to use a rototiller I'd probably have gone with one that has more HP, but with draft implements it seems to do fine with everything I've put behind it so far. In fact a couple weeks ago I was using it to pulling a single shank ripper through a longtime pasture (mostly a clay loam soil) and it wasn't having a problem with that either. Granted when I checked afterword the ripper seemed to have been leveling off around 12-ish inches deep, though it was deep enough to do the job and it still had margin left so I'm certain it'd go deeper if/when/as needed.

I'm going to kick the tires on a new 3560 limited edition my dealer has on the lot. Already has the FEL installed.
FWIW- I got a price of $32k with FEL, AG tires, 3rd function valve, loaded rear tires & expanded steel welded over the grill guard.

Just for consideration that's roughly what mine ran with an open station/ROPs configuration with LA805 FEL, R4 tires, 3rd function, and the full set (three position/pairs) of rear remotes.

Done-
3560 Grand L cab limited edition, R4's. 3rd function valve, loaded rear tires, FEL & mesh over grill guard. Adding back work lights and mirrors.
Got initial delivery and 50hr service included. Also got some kind of fancy implement to prep and smooth food plots.
I'll have it next week.
Thanks
