Tractor
Kioti ck30hst
I own a 2003 Kioti CK30HST and I am looking to upgrade soon. It is mostly used for Snowblowing residential driveway and some landscaping. Thinking of getting a power landscape rake with next tractor. Looked at the JD3720 and NH3050 cvt. I am not sure about cvt for reliability and maintenance cost as they are pretty new for NH. I will need a cab with heat and AC, front and rear wipers and work lights, radio, 2 rear hydrolic to run chute deflector and rotation. Some of my priorities are road travel speed, reliability, cost, comfort/ergonomics for controls. I did not look at other brands yet, any comments and advice on these and other options would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with the tractors mentioned, but the NH owners with CVT on this site all like theirs. I am sure any mentioned would be good choices. I also like the Grand L Series by Kubota.

All make good tractors.

In my opinion, the JD3720 is the nicest of the bunch...

Based on my studies I would go for the Kubota Grand L tractors. Either a used 30 series or a new 40 series.

I have a Grand L3830 Kubota. It's outstanding. The only thing that seperates it from a large "professional" tractor is it's size. In other words it's made just as well as the largest Kubota and John Deere models. Other companies tend to skimp on their compact tractors.... in my opinion.

I would go with the Dealer with whom you feel most comfortable with.
I like the solid NH, but thats only because of my experience, over 20+ years.
Other guys have had similar luck with JD and Kubota
Good luck

the cvt actually has ahd 5 years of testing before they put it in the compacts. they tested a couple of 3040 and 3045 with the cvt and ran them through about every test you could imagine for 5000 to 7000 hours with out ever even checking the transmission and when they did, not a problem. the cvt is designed to last 10 times longer than a hydrstat. they are really fun to drive and they have a lot more seetings and features so you have choices in spead from .5 mph with max torque to 16 mph with half torque for jsut driving. really similar to driving a car. plus if you get a cab, the NH cab is the biggest and roomiest compared to the orange and greene.

i am leaning more towards the New Holland right now. A quick survey of 4 or 5 people that have owned different brands around my area say that best dealer service is with NH, and that was my 1st impression after speaking with a few dealers around. They are bringing a 3050 with a loader from their other location for me to try out. They have 24hrs, 365 days service and will loan tractor if cant fix right away. Will update after i try it out with loader.

I have a Case IH DX45 with a cab and HST:thumbsup:. It's 13 months old and I'm very happy with my CASE (same as NH). The cab is the best part :). I narrowed my choices down to CASE and Massey Ferguson. The cab and the dealer was the final selling point. Everyone I talked to that had a case or NH liked and were happy with thier tractors. A good dealer makes a big difference also.
Good Luck,:tractor:

Thats clue number one.

A dealer willing to let you try it. A willing, helpful dealer is a good one. Not one that can fill your head with why there brand is the best because of tests, standard features.

A good dealer WILL tell you what is standard or not comparing other brands to there bread and butter......

Brand, color are irrelevant. Its the combination of features and standards that are comfortable and applicable for you and support when needed with ANY tractor that best fits the customers needs.

Try all brands you can, gather the literature at the dealers, do a little reading...."TBN" If the dealer won't even let you run one around on the lot if requested, leave. Dealer has already shown what support he hass... "note fancy spelling on last word"
