Long story short, I got a short block and parts along with my basket case MF65 - which has a Continental G176 with a connecting rod that decided it wanted to see daylight.
So I started going through all the parts and was about to mount up the short block to an engine stand when bells started going off ... it's not the right block!
I have a call up to my cousin to see if we picked up the wrong block, but I don't think we did - I think it was just the wrong one to begin with. It's a Continental - I am pretty sure of that, but I cannot identify it - the ID plate is gone, replaced with what looks like a stamp from being rebuilt (12 - 21 - 88).
Any Continental gurus watching this that can help me get an ID on this thing?
