Help needed ! front axle vent plug replacement Posted in parts and repairs also

okk so the vent plug on the front axle of our 2007 Mahindra 2615 4wd got a tear in it and was leaking oil,got the old plug out after struggling with it for about 1 hour or so now I need to replace the plug but can't get it in. Is there any easy way to get this thing in, there is very little space no access from top either. Can't tell if the piece it goes into threads into the axle or not .ANY help is greatly appreciated. It also is for a Cub cadet and some other tractors

Are you referring to the rubber plug? If so, it presses in. Try coating it with some lubricant.

Thanks for your help BUT unfortunately it did not work ,not enough space to get any type of leverage to push down on it. Finally got a hold of a local tractor service that said the way they do it is to DROP the front axle. Nope can't do that . Hubby came up with a fix for it for now,just hoping it works GREAT!!! THANK YOU again.

Try to avoid freaking out and posting multiple threads for the same problem in different forums. For someone in the future doing a search they may be guided to the thread that doesn't contain the solution.
