Ford 1920 4x4 (traded in on Kubota). Case 480F TLB w/4 in 1 bucket, 4x4. Gehl CTL60 tracked loader, Kubota L4330 GST
Just got a tracked loader and snowblade and can't get one hose connected. Followed the simple instructions in the manual to relieve residual pressure in the machine lines. The female hose on the machine connects but the male is too hard to push on. It seems that when I first started, it was going on part way but toward the end, it hardly budged. Both connector sides are new. I think these were called flat faced connectors. Do you need to pull back on the knurled collar to assemble it? Any other thoughts?

You may have residual pressure on the plow side of the couplers, you'll have to loosen the couplers to relieve the pressure. If you don't have the right size hex wrenches just use two adjustable wrenches and wear some eye protection just in case oil shoots out after that you should be good to go!

The residual pressure in an attachment is a common thing I've noticed. If I can't get the relief I need with a couple of off on's of the auxillary hydraulic controller I just crack the connector and the tighten it back up when I'm hooked.

It happens all the time to me. I had to do it yesterday morning with a rented trencher attachment I used. No big deal.

I have that happen on my power angle plow once in a while. I have to crack a hose connection at the fitting where it goes into the cylinder. Just a drop or two has to come out to relieve enough pressure to get it to work. I tend to wiggle the plow back and forth a few times before I remove the quick connects, and that seems to keep it from happening.

Bought a Gehl CTL60 that came with a 67" regular bucket w/bolt on edge, cab, and heater. (This is made by Takeuchi) Added a Bobcat 7 ft. snowplow w/hydraulic angle. Looking forward to adding some land clearing attachments this spring. I'll try to attach Gehl's photo now and maybe my photo later. Gehl Tracked Loader

Residual pressure. I came across this in a blizzard a week or two ago and figured it out for myself. I felt really smart.

So when today I was putting the snowplow back on after using the loader bucket (I always leave the snowplow on when I'm not using the tractor), I came across residual pressure again. I thought "well I know what to do with this", and I moved the joystick to relive the pressure, but in fact, no that didn't seem to answer. Just then my little brother just happens to drop by and pops it in easy as pie.

What I think happens is that when the tractor is off, the pressure release from opening the valve isn't instantaneous, and so there can be a delay between moving the joystick and the pressure coming off enough to pop the connection in. I suppose I could have started the thing up, but with the seat interlock I just didn't feel like cranking the tractor on and off twice just to connect two hoses.

But it does leave something to be desired in the projecting the image of the slick operator department.
