Ok I found the problem. The paddle on the pto rod lost the bolt so I bought a new one but the paddle doesn't push the switch enough to operate. So I wire fied a piece of wooden shingle and it pushes the switch back enough now
But its still not right cause when i shut down the pto and lift the deck to its highest level the blades engage by themself.

Check all the plastic parts for wear and distortion (bent not making contact like it should) or breakage, then those parts will most likely need replacing.

So when the bolt had snapped, the rod that came up from the bottom was able to drop down enough that one of the step bushings came out of place. They tend to do that if the fine spring that goes up to the body from the rear of the engagement rod is hooked up. You should be able to wiggle things back into place and reinstall the bolt. I suppose that it is possible that the lever return spring on the arm went awol at the same time.
