If I can find a replacement U joint is this worth repairing? ...Have no idea how to assess this. The bearing seat on the quick connect looks pretty worn but may it still be usable as is? It's off my Pronovost snow blower.

Thanks...

I don't see anything repairable there.

Thanks ... I'm taking a ride to TS now to see if they have a replacement shaft/joint and connector... any recommendation where to source the part?

If you have an automotive driveline shop near by they generally have the parts and can assemble and weld the shaft on. Many far supply stores have them, Agri Supply has them on the web as do other suppliers.

Thanks Jerry... This has the triangle shaft and TS didn't carry that type. I hit a local tractor shop. They can make one up for me or they can order one from their supplier ...that I'll have to cut to fit myself apparently. I'm going to shop around online to see what's available. I'm thinking, no rush....the snow is melting pretty fast here ...maybe another week and I'll be good until next winter.

We have a local machine shop that builds / rebuilds drive shafts.. used them a few times to balance a drive shaft and a couple times to just swap out U joints. Really nice quality and fair priced.

Thanks Tom... I've been muddling through online and found the specs on the Pronovost P-680 blower (my attachment). Looks like it has a T40 PTO shaft. I may make a few phone calls tomorrow to try to pick up some more info. The male end of the shaft coming off the snowblower looks fine, So I need the T40 female triangle shaft, the yoke, the U joint, the other yoke and the PTO connector piece. Getting those as a package is what I'm shooting for. The guys at Crown in Caribou were a big help to me today... I may just give them the work. I think they're wanting $250.

I'm no expert but it looks to me you can just swap out the U-joint and run it. Is the piece inside the right hand piece with the damage the shaft that slips? If so, It looks like your shaft is too long and pushed into the u-joint? I've seen way worse on Jeeps and with some finesse they were usable and they see a lot faster speeds than your blower will. Pound those ears back into shape, make sure your shaft isn't too long and put in a new U-joint and run it, u-joints are cheap. Another trick is to put some tack welds on the caps to keep them in place if need be. When the U-joint explodes on a Jeep while the front is spinning it can and has taken out the lower ball joint (no fun on the trail) so we've adapted ways to help keep this to a minimum.

I just had to buy one for my auger. I found the best price at Agri Supply online.
