Hi, I just received my Jinma 284 and am in the process of assembling the beauty and need some help. I am having trouble with the hand throttle: mounting, operation, etc.

The hand throttle rod itself, when mounted using the attached bracket to the only hole in the fuel tank support, is almost totally vertical. This creates a several problems.

1. The part of the rod extending through the dash, is not in the same axis as the grommet. Therefore the grommet is being tweaked creating a lot of friction.

2. The end of the hand throttle lever hits the top of the dash prior to hitting the stop on the bracket.

3. The linkage from the slotted part that is also operated by the foot throttle, is not long enough to reach the bottom of the hand throttle lever.

I will try to attach a picture for clarification.

By the way, the foot throttle linkage rubs on the hydraulic line that goes to/from the rear. Should I just bend the linkage to clear it?

Thanks for your help.

The hand throttle on my 284 is a bit different(comes out under the side of the dash), but I will try to help. From your picture it looks as if the arm where the pushrod attaches at the bottom of the hand throttle is too low. Have you tried attaching the hand throttle mount bracket on TOP of the horizontal plate that it is currently attached to? This would raise it up a bit and possible keep it from contacting the dash when you push it forward toward idle.

As for the link down to the foot throttle, mine has a slight bend in the middle. It goes from about 1/2" away from the hydraulic pipe at idle, to nearly touching when the pedal is fully depressed.

The throttle mount goes on top of the plate, you can also adjust the handle if it's still rubbing the dash, you can bend the linkage a little to clear the hydraulic line

Ron & Tommy,

Thanks for the help! This is probably way to simple of an issue!

I mounted it on top first but the throttle hit the dash and it just didn't seem...solid, I guess. But the linkage did fit. Then I moved it to the bottom and took the picture. That's what I get. =)

I've tried to figure out how to adjust the handle but I can't seem to get it not to hit. With the limiting "stop" welded to the main rod, and the linkage "lever" held in it's location via the flat spot on the threaded section it seems as though the only way to adjust it is to bend it. I could be over analyzing but what am I missing?

Thanks again.

Dan
