I just acquired a deere AMT 626- one of those funny looking 4 wheel in the back, one wheel front - gizmos. My nearby dealer is happy to take it in for service, but I would like to solve this myself- I think the centrifugal clutch is out of adjustment...I have the idle set very low (audibly low anyways) and yet it still grinds shifting into gear, and immediately takes off at a low speed with the engine just idling. I have to stand on the brake to stop it from creeping away....any tips on how to adjust the clutch? another forum to try a post?

I have the owners manual - says 'visit your friendly dealer /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" but I reserve that as my last resort .... $$$

Thanks for any help you can offer!

This is just an idea because I've never looked at the trans on this model. If it has a cover over the clutch, take it off and blow the dust out of it and around the clutch. I had to do this with my 6x4 Gator because it was doing the same thing.
